Glendronach has gained quite a following over the last few years, being well known for it’s sherried profile. This is a more recent NAS expression released at cask strength and matured in a mix of Oloroso and PX sherry casks. I’m not a huge Glendronach fan, I prefer the dirty sulphury type of sherry profile, but this whisky has been making a few waves and I’ve been keen to try it.
Aged 3 years * . 54.9%ABV. Matured in Oloroso and PX casks. No colourant added, non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength .

Would I order this in a bar: No
Would I drink this if someone gave me a glass: Yes
As expected, this wasn’t really my style. I also found it lacking the complexity some of the better Glendronachs I’ve tried had. Still not bad, as an affordable, cask strength sherry bomb it performs pretty well although I’d probably get an Aberlour A’bunadh instead.
