Sorry about the delay since my last post. I was on holiday in Italy but am back and well rested. Very shortly before I left, to the point that I didn’t have time to write this up, I was invited to a very special tasting event. I recently posted about and evening that our whisky club, MMI had in conjunction with Sipil, a local importer and online retailer, who have recently begun to import Douglas Laing products to Israel, currently the only independent bottler on the market.

My Islay Trip Part 1 – A stopover in Glasgow and a tasting at the Bon Accord


I just recently returned from a trip to the beautiful island of Islay. Islay is a little green island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, and is most well known for being home to 8 whisky distilleries who make some damn fine stuff.

Whisky Bar & Museum Glenmorangie Tasting

At the tail end of Whisky Live I was really lucky to be able to attend a tasting of Glenmorangie whiskies for the press and blogger community with Hamish Torrie, the global brand ambassador for Glenmorangie and Ardbeg. What really made this event special though was where it took place, the Whisk(e)y Bar & Museum in Tel Aviv’s Sarona complex. That’s right, we’re getting a Whisky Museum!
