Glenfiddich 14 Bourbon Barrel Reserve

This is one I’ve wanted to try for some time. A few years back I got a a bottle of Glenfiddich 14 Rich Oak, aged in virgin oak casks. I thought it was a gimmicky bottle but ended up being my favourite standard release from the distillery. This one was released for the American market and was aged in first fill bourbon instead of virgin oak and I’ve been curious as to how it stacks up against the other 14 year old.

Glenfiddich 15 Handfilled – BTC #05


This was a very tricky one indeed. We’re not used to seeing Glenfiddich at cask strength or non-chill filtered and then a distillery exclusive hand-filled bottling to boot. But it was a bloody nice dram, I sat and enjoyed the last half of it after taking my notes for quite some time.

Glenfiddich 15 Solera Reserve


This is a mystery dram from a pack of 3 such samples from Flaviar. Flaviar is a website that sells bottles and tasting packs of all sorts of spirits, some well known, and quite a few obscure ones. They’re a tad pricy but their shipping to here is very reasonable, and the tasting packs can be quite interesting, worth checking out.
