Glenfiddich 14 Bourbon Barrel Reserve

This is one I’ve wanted to try for some time. A few years back I got a a bottle of Glenfiddich 14 Rich Oak, aged in virgin oak casks. I thought it was a gimmicky bottle but ended up being my favourite standard release from the distillery. This one was released for the American market and was aged in first fill bourbon instead of virgin oak and I’ve been curious as to how it stacks up against the other 14 year old.

Pelter Distillery Inaugural Single Malt Whisky

This is the third Israeli single malt to come of age in recent months. This one comes from Pelter, a well established winery in the Golan Heights who have been doing some distilling on the side for some time. A few years ago they decided to make the distillery a part of the business and purchased an alembic still. Because they were already a well established business they ran their own pre-purchase program as opposed to using a crowdfunding platform.

Inchmurrin 12 and Inchmoan 12

I’ve mentioned Loch Lomond distillery before from a tasting I attended a little under 2 years ago but it warrants mentioning again. It’s probably one of the most interesting distilleries in Scotland. Aside from functioning as both a grain and a malt distillery, with traditional column and pot stills, they have a 3rd set of stills which are a bit of a hybrid.

Glen Keith 1992 Alambic Classique Double Matured

1992 was a good year for Glen Keith, I’ve tried several bottlings distilled in that year and they have been spectacular and made me develop quite an affinity for the stuff. IT’s got a very strong body to it and is a fun whisky to try. Just about all of the Glen Keiths I’ve tried have been bourbon matured, it just works, but this one really piqued my curiosity, so when the opportunity  for a bottle share came along I grabbed it.
